The Virginia College Stores Association, Inc., was founded in 1971 to further the knowledge and professional education of college store personnel. Its objective is to help its members better serve their institutions through educational programs and sharing of ideas and information, to promote high standards of business methods and ethics, and to develop effective communications and working relationships among members, publishers, manufacturers and distributors. The focal point of the year is the annual conference which includes a major trade show, educational programs and entertainment. If support warrants, a midyear day-and-a-half meeting is held in June to reinforce networking for managers. A newsletter is published periodically.
